Surgical Experience of Benign Pancreatic Diseases

Abstract
The clinical observation of 16 cases of benign pancreatic diseases, which were treated surgically at GNUH during 2 years from May 1989 to July 1991-were presented and reviewed with literatural references.
@ES The results are as follow:
@EN The 16 cases include 7 cases of pancreatic pseudocysts(43.7%), 4 cases of pancreatic duct stone(25.0%), 2 cases of chronic pancreatitis with fibrosis(12.5%), 2 cases of pancreatic abscess (12.5%) and 1 cases of pancreatic injury(6.2%).
All cases were male except 1 case of pancreatic injury and another case of pancreatic duct stone patient.
The cardinal symptoms and signs were epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting abdominal mass and tenderness but they were all non specific.
The laboratory data were also nonspecific and diagnosis was confirmed by X-ray findings.
In pancreatic duct stone, Duval and Puestow-Gillesby operation were performed in 4 cases and good results were obtained in all these cases.
In chronic pancreatitis with fibrosis, 2 cases ; Whipple operation. Were done without any significant complication.
In 2 cases of pancreatic abscess, multiple drainage and Peustow-Gillesby operation were performed with favorable results.
One cases of pancreatic injury was presented and distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy was performed.
